Developed concept and detailed designs and coordinated with Norfolk Southern Industrial Development and Engineering Departments for approval, and provided bid and construction observation services for new spur tracks in two fuel terminals in the Mid-Atlantic region for a major pipeline and terminal company. The new tracks were required for delivery of ethanol in tank cars for blending with gasoline.
Furnished a feasibility study for a major wholesale/retail supplier of fuel in the Southeast. The study included preliminary design of several options for spur tracks that would allow direct delivery of tank cars of ethanol into a fuel terminal area and coordination with CSX for approval of the selected design. Probable construction cost estimates were also provided in the study report.
Performed bridge inspections for short line railroads in GA, MI, OH and IN and prepared reports documenting conditions and listing
priorities for repairs.
Developed concept and detailed designs for a mainline track relocation on a shortline in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Developed concept and detailed designs for a spur track to serve a major poultry processor in the Southeast region.
Conducted an inspection of rail pit modifications and provided a rail fastening design for an ethanol plant corn receiving facility.
Observed the quality and quantity of a track contractor’s work and furnished reports containing descriptions of deficiencies for a unit train ethanol facility in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Conducted observations on two track construction projects at a new processing facility in the Southeast. Reported deficiencies in the materials and workmanship to the client and conducted follow up observations to insure compliance with the general intent of the plans and specifications.
Conducted monthly track inspections and special inspections following derailments and inclement weather and furnished reports for a unit train facility in the Southeast. Also, made recommendations for purchasing and installing the most efficient rail lubrication equipment for the track system at that facility.
